Hiring Success 17: What Industry Professionals Say

Hiring Success 17

Wow, what an amazing event!

If you were flying in or out of San Francisco last week, you were likely not sitting far from some of the top recruiters and hiring professionals worldwide – from Australia to Europe and everywhere in between.

SmartRecruiters Hiring Success 17 is now a wrap (read our recap here). However, taking a look at what’s being written about our conference gives us more confidence than ever that we’re turning hiring success from mere potential into powerful reality at so many global organizations — Visa, Alcoa, Bosch, and more.

There’s still a lot to absorb from the insights presented by key industry thought leaders, but here are a few initial impressions from hiring professionals that you may find valuable.

The New State of the Art

At HR Examiner, John Sumser says we’ve “redefined the state of the art in recruiting at the enterprise level.”

He points out that by integrating ATS and candidate relationship management (CRM) into one database which serves the complete candidate lifecycle, we’ve opened “a host of doors to integration.” He also says that we’ve “redefined excellence.”

I appreciate John’s remarks and his insights into how the recruiting and hiring landscape is quickly evolving.

AI Moves Deeper Into HR

George Leopold writes at Datanami that our announcement of Recruiting AI last week will help recruiters create deeper human connections, explaining that a recent survey of human resources specialists found that 52 percent of them say the hardest part of recruitment is identifying the right candidate from a large pool of applicants.

As his article points out, our Recruiting AI tool will apply “data science techniques to detect patterns related to applicants’ work experience to quickly weed out unqualified candidates and come up with a short list of prospects,” also noting that such tools “address the sticky issue of employer bias.”

Absolutely. That’s one major reason we developed this technology.

Actionable Insights

Click Boarding, one of our conference sponsors published a post by Karen Redetzki, who says the event “was nothing short of fantastic.”

Karen clearly summarizes 10 actionable insights from various HS 17 sessions. Read the post for more details, but hiring success today requires addressing some fundamental challenges based on key metrics such as:

Taking action based on this kind of data is going to be critical in the year ahead.
