SmartRecruiters is excited to announce a new agency management feature coming next week to manage third-party recruiters in your account. Never before has a company been able to streamline processes with multiple recruiters while also having perfect visibility and control of candidate submissions for all jobs.

SmartRecruiters New Agency Management Feature for Companies:

Invite Your Recruiters

We make it easy for you to source great candidates with recruiters in our recruiter marketplace. You can invite your recruiters to join the marketplace in your account, and only recruiters invited by our customers can join. We send your recruiters an invitation by email and quickly walk them through the process of creating an account.

Hire a Recruiter

You have the option to hire a recruiter when either creating a job or on the job page for an existing job. This option displays our recruiter marketplace where you can see all third-party recruiters, view their terms and contract with them on your jobs.

recruiter-market-place

Recruiters who you have invited are saved as your favorites in the marketplace. In addition, you can hire the best performing recruiters for your jobs. Your peers have vetted all recruiters in our marketplace, and companies that have used them can rate and review their services on their profiles.

Choose or Negotiate Terms

Recruiters create their own predefined offers in the marketplace for you to choose, including contingent and full service terms. You can also work with the recruiters who you have invited under your original terms by choosing direct delivery. They will continue to bill you directly and accept payments outside of your SmartRecruiters account.

proposed-terms-multi_v3

In addition, you can propose new terms for each recruiter and negotiate them in your account, or share your job with the marketplace to receive competitive proposals from multiple recruiters.

Manage Candidate Submissions

Only recruiters who you select can submit candidates for your jobs. When you contract with a recruiter, they see your job as an assignment in their new Agency Portal and can only submit candidates and view the hiring status on jobs to which they have been assigned.

Assignment_list

Candidates submitted by recruiters automatically show as new profiles on the job page and include ratings and reviews by the recruiter on the profile. Your hiring team receives notifications for new submissions and can start engaging these candidates immediately in your hiring process.

candidate-page-review

Recruiters can view their candidate submissions on the job page for each assigned job. They can also see the status of the candidate and the average rating by your hiring team. When a recruiter submits a candidate for a job, we check your database for duplicates and time stamp each submission to avoid potential conflicts before adding the candidate to your account.

Streamline Payments

We manage billing and payments for recruiting services purchased in our marketplace and give enterprise members an additional 10% off their purchases. We also take a 30% revenue share from recruiters doing business in SmartRecruiters.

confirm-payment

Recruiters can request payment for their services as defined in the terms of your contract. For example, if you agree to contingent terms where the recruiter is paid when you place a candidate, you’ll receive a request for payment when you move the candidate to the hired status on a job.

We manage all invoices and payments with recruiters whom you’ve contracted. We invoice you in your account for their services per your terms and accept payments through your SmartRecruiters business account or a credit card.

Your Business Account

Instead of using your credit card to purchase job boardscandidate databases, or other services, we will send you a single invoice for all purchases made in your company account each month. Your business account is a new Payment Method in Account Settings that allows you to charge purchases in the Store to your account.

Flexible Payment Options

If you have multiple cost centers or departments, we can provide you with a business account for each one to track purchases against your budget. You can share an account with multiple users, and once added, they can charge purchases in the store to your company. Users can also have access to additional business accounts or credit cards to make purchases.

We also make it easier for you to manage your recruiting budget across departments. For each payment method, you can authorize users to purchase job boards, candidate databases and recruiter services for their jobs.

In the new year, we’re adding more databases for sourcing passive candidates in your talent pool, as well as more recruiting service options to help you hire the best people for your jobs.

This week, we’ve released a sleeker job posting process that allows you to post a job in three steps. In addition, we’ve rolled out our first private beta RPO service for healthcare.

After filling out details about the job, you’re directed to our Store where you can select from the best performing boards for your job, as well as post it to free boards, your careers page and job widgets on websites, and your Facebook Careers App. As part of this release, we’ve streamlined the user experience of our Store by highlighting promos and moving all package details for each job board under its logo.

Once you’ve posted your job to boards and your website, you can share it with your social networks as the last step.

We’ve also partnered with Kelly Healthcare Resources to offer our healthcare customers an easier way to hire a recruiter for their jobs. For more information about this private beta release, please contact us at john@smartrecruiters.com or 415 992 5287.

Coming up, we’re focused on improving your payment options by allowing you to store payment types in your account. We’re also adding database services to help you expand your talent pool of great candidates for jobs. To share your feedback, please check out our customer support community or give us a shout at support@smartrecruiters.com and 415 508 3755.

In this week’s release, we made it easier to manage the branding of your Careers Page, as well as provided an option to remove the “posted by” section per user on the job post. In addition, we improved our user experience by posting notifications in HireLoop of duplicate applications by a candidate while continuing to maintain the candidate’s profile for only one job.

We have also implemented a backend enhancement to automatically clear the cache for every user with each new SmartRecruiters product release.

You can now consistently manage your company logo on the Company Information section of the Admin page.

To add it to your Careers Page, you can select this option now on the Banner tab when configuring your branding options.

Also, when you post a job to your social networks, you now have the option to deselect the posted by identification section on the job ad. Users can manage this feature on each job that they post.

We are also making it easier to see when candidates apply to multiple jobs in your HireLoop feed on the homepage in your account. The notification communicates that the candidate also expressed interest in a second job that is currently posted in your SmartRecruiters account. However, we do not duplicate the candidate profile for additional job applications and will only maintain their profile on the first job to which they applied and are still active.

To share your feedback, please check out our customer support community  or give us a shout at support@smartrecruiters.com and 415 508 3755.

Recently in our office, we were talking about impressive resumes after my friend received one (see below) for her company, Imogene + Willie. A quick Google search later, we found many more online. Candidates who have the time and talent are coming up with novel ways to market themselves using the latest trends to create buzz, from displaying their resume in an infographic format to taking a more DIY route, like my friend posted, with crafts. Luckily, you don’t have to be an emerging artist to create an engaging profile of your talents – you just have to present relevance.

Relevant works, even for candidates with limited experience. I once used novel ways to market myself early in my career, and once I recast my employer as my customer, the initiative I took to be relevant to their needs paid off. Candidates unfortunately often miss the opportunity to make it easy for employers to hire them.

And there’s plenty of opportunity. A recruiter working against time to hire performance metrics while having to make sense of resume spam received from over 85% of candidates who fail to connect their experience to requirements in the job ad typically do not have time to interpret every resume. At best, they have a few minutes. And if you add in the reality that some may be trying to fill jobs that their overworked colleagues needed filled “yesterday” but only had the budget to fill now, it’s not hard to see that if there ever was a time to be relevant, now’s that time.

With this realization, to get my career off the ground, I started focusing less on showcasing ALL of my incredible talents – my hands-on knowledge of welding tire rims or my action photography skills at monster tractor pulling contests or my promotional marketing experience wearing a mascot costume at a rural Kentucky rodeo in 108 degree heat – and more on what my future employer needed to know to hire me. As proud as I was of surviving many of my early work experiences, I knew that this pride wasn’t relevant to where I was trying to go.

I also learned that if you’re a recent college grad or even a professional with limited experience in your chosen field, bridging the gap by showing initiative is possible. It just depends on what you’re willing to do to get there. I landed one job offer in advertising, which was a major career jump at the time, by creating a faux copywriter portfolio of reimagined work of the agency where I wanted to work. A few years later, after the first dot.com fallout when the market was flooded with candidates, I overnighted my resume and work samples to a hiring manager who had to sign for it, relieving her of the pain of reviewing over 300 resumes she had received for my future job.

Being relevant today, with or without experience, is easier with social media. After you’ve revamped your resume with all the tried and true tips repeated in nearly all candidate advice columns – customize your resume to the job requirements, proofread before sending, include keywords from the job ad, describe your previous roles by what you achieved, include only the last 10 years of relevant work experience, fit it all on one page – remember your social presence.

With social profiles emerging as the new resume, given that they’re easier to read, usually current, and unequivocally engaging, you should also have an employer-friendly profile on LinkedIn, Facebook and other networks related to your industry or career path. With very little artistic ability, you can personalize your profile by sharing photos of your work if relevant, links to a blog or an online file service like Dropbox, and professional references from real people.

We released the ability to create templates for frequently posted jobs, making it easier for companies with multiple locations or decentralized hiring teams to quickly post commonly open positions without having to recreate the entire job ad. We also retired our “on-hold” job status to further simplify the hiring process.

Posting multiple openings for the same position has never been easier. Admins now have the ability to create templates for jobs frequently posted by your company, including the option to save a new job as a template. To get started, users start typing the job title into a blank template and are automatically presented with options to select a prefilled job template or to copy another job ad.

Templates can include prefilled fields for the job title, company description, qualifications, additional information, industry, function, type of employment, experience level and EEO data. Users can preview the template and edit these fields prior to posting.

In addition, we’ve retired our “on-hold” status on jobs and migrated existing jobs with this status to “cancelled.” In the jobs list and on the jobs page, you can reactivate a cancelled job to any step associated with an active status, including draft, sourcing, in-review, interview and filled. When moving an active job to cancelled, we prompt you to unpost it from job boards and your career site, job widget, or Facebook Careers App to prevent candidates from expressing interest in inactive positions.

Please see Get Satisfaction to review bug fixes in this release, and as always, we look forward to your feedback!

This week, we’re releasing visual enhancements to our job ad to make it more engaging and social. We’ve also retired our “accepted” status on candidates in favor of a more relevant “hired” status and have added days available criteria to our work shifts screening question, which is especially helpful for finding the right candidate in the upcoming holiday hiring season.

In addition to a more appealing layout, our new job ad makes it easier for people to share your jobs via email or on their social networks, including LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. We also put an employee face with the job by adding who posted the job from the company and their location. Finally, we’ve made the first step in our application process more friendly by asking candidates to express interest in the job with an “I’m Interested” button versus using a traditional “Apply Now” button. These changes are retroactive for all job ads and will help you attract even better candidates, including those passive candidates who are interested in your jobs but may not have the time to apply.

We retired our “Accepted” status on the job and the candidate profile for a more relevant and intuitive “Hired” status. When you move a candidate to this status on a job, SmartRecruiters prompts you to confirm hiring and provide a start date.

We’ve also added days available criteria to our Work Shifts question in our Screening Questions. Candidates can now define their availability for all days or individual days of the week. This is particularly helpful for employers who are looking to place part-time or seasonal employees in hourly roles that have more flexible shift requirements.

This week, we’re releasing a visually dynamic Jobs List that offers a quick and easy way to view your candidate pipeline per job for all jobs on one page. In addition, we’ve continued to enhance our user experience to make it even easier to manage candidates on jobs or in your database.

Our new Jobs List provides a single page view of all candidate pipelines by displaying the number of candidates at each step in the hiring process on each job in the list. You can filter this list by your jobs, all active jobs, canceled or on-hold jobs, or by filled jobs. Additional filter options are available for department, location and hiring team members. Also, inline commands to post, unpost, edit, copy, cancel or put a job on hold are still accessible on the each job.

User experience enhancements include a Select All option for candidates on the Jobs Page and also for all candidates in your database, allowing you to easily perform bulk actions for emailing, rejecting or deleting candidates. You can also select all candidates on the current page by clicking on the selection marker on a single candidate box while holding down SHIFT on your keyboard.
